人とテクノロジーをゆるやかに繋げる

GADARAは、「自然のゆらぎ」をデザインの軸として、フィジカルなインタラクティブデバイスの開発、センシングやAIを用いた音楽表現などを実験的に行い、人とテクノロジーの関係性を探求するインタラクションデザインユニットです。

テクノロジーの進化には目をみはるものがあります。
例えばスマートフォンやインターネット技術の登場により、人の生活は大きく変化してきました。 テクノロジーの進化は人のあらゆる活動を便利にしてきただけではなく、同時に人の様々なクリエイティブな活動を生み出すきっかけを担ってきました。

テクノロジーの進化に伴走して、ユーザーインタフェースの形態や、人間中心設計などプロダクト開発に関する指針も洗練されていき、ユーザー・人に寄り添うテクノロジーが拡充されるようになりました。
一方で、現代社会ではデジタルデトックスやキャンプブームなどあえてテクノロジーと距離を置き自然を親しむ動向も見られており、二項対立になりがちなテクノロジー/自然を捉えなおして、オルタナティブな関係性をデザインしていく必要があると考えています。

GADARAのものづくりは、普段何気なく使っているデジタルデバイスやシステムなどのインタフェースに、自然要素を交えた入出力をデザインすることによって、楽しさ・驚き・愛着など人の感性に豊かな影響を与えることを目指しています。

Connecting People and Technology

GADARA is an interaction design unit that explores the relationship between people and technology by developing physical interactive devices, experimenting with sensing and AI-based music expression, and so on, using "the fluctuation of nature" as the axis of design.

The evolution of technology is astonishing.
For example, with the advent of smartphones and Internet technology, people's lives have changed dramatically. The evolution of technology has not only made all human activities more convenient, but it has also played a role in triggering a variety of creative activities.

Accompanying the evolution of technology, guidelines for product development, such as the form of user interface and human-centered design, have been refined, and technologies that are close to users and people have been expanded.
On the other hand, in modern society, there are trends such as the digital detox and camping boom, where people dare to distance themselves from technology and enjoy nature.

GADARA's manufacturing aims to have a rich impact on people's sensibilities, such as enjoyment, surprise, and attachment, by designing input and output with natural elements in the interface of digital devices and systems that we use casually.
